I am amazed at the number of people I see sell their characters…
…just to eventually come back and keep playing.
And this doesn’t even account for the number of people who were banned and picked right back up where they left off.
In as much as I’d love to sell Talint for the several tens of dollars I’m sure he’s worth, I don’t think I could.
I’ve heard more “I don’t know why I’m playing it again, I’ve sworn this game off X times” stories about Final Fantasy 11 than probably every other MMO I know of combined. For a game that the playerbase bitches so vehemently about at every possible moment, that’s gotta be some testament to the game’s staying power.
There’s a lot of sentimental value to be had for an MMO that lets you do literally everything with just your one guy.
