So, fearless party leader, you decided to make me puller.
This is fine. I hate doing it for any number of reasons, but I’ll do it. I went in figuring that this was part of the job, so part of the job it is.
But you need to suck less. You’ve made me directly responsible for the EXP/hr, and it’s the only job I’m focusing on at this point, so I’m flooring the gas. If we’re at that shitty Colibri camp in Bhaflau at 62 that has Eruca too, then I’m pulling the Eruca if we’re killing too fast (which we should be). Marsh Muerres, Caedarva Leeches, Orderly Imps, I’m pulling all of it if we’re at Caedarva at 57. My job is to keep the EXP high and flowing. Everyone else’s job is to be killing it.
So if everyone else is sucking, it’s not my fault. You can yell at me to slow down all you want, and I’ll probably listen, but you can expect me to log off if we’re dipping below 10k/hr and/or can’t hit Chain #5. Manage your MP, eat cheap food for Colibri, get outside healing, I don’t care how it gets done. It becomes irrelevant if I’m pulling.
So, yeah. Suck less.
God I hate pulling sooooooooooo much.
You end up with more hate than usual since you attacked the mob first, the tank is retarded half the time and slow on Provoke/Flash, and you have to run all over the goddamned place getting mobs instead of shooting them in the face. Which is slightly more fun.
That, and the party setup tends to be retarded (there’s no BRD usually).
I feel your pain.
Question: If your tank is a PLD, why do they wait until all your shadows are gone, and have eaten 500 damage before they do anything?
BTW, when meriting for RNG, ALWAYS make your own PTs, or you will be forced to pull if no BRDs are available.
Typically I can stand pulling down 8-9k/hr if I have absolutely nothing better to do, but I’ve been in my fair share of parties where I’ve seen the leader bitch out the puller until we’re getting 5k and I just dump the fucker. Merit-static partying with a goonshell Paladin who manages to get upwards of 20k an hour with no puller in that same camp you mention is quickly ruining me though, so sooner or later I’ll probably be in the same “10k or bust” mindset.
It’s actually kind of shocking that somebody else suggests the outside healing bit, myself, since this thought just never crosses the mind of anyone after Qufim. I find that bored Red Mages that need some extra Healing/Enhancing skillups are extremely receptive to standing around being a seventh party member.
