So, first entry.

I’ve read a few FFXI blogs.

All of them are hideously boring.

Mostly because they’re all “liek omg my ls and i did limbus today here are pics lolbifrons”. They’re not even useful. The people who maintain those blogs really only care about showing anyone who reads them about how uber they are, and that they might just be uber +1. What’s the point of that? None of these blogs ever really talk about the game itself, or anything that comes up; until there’s some kind of direct conflict in which some biased GM throws their ass in jail. Then everyone becomes a giant martyr.

So, that’s why I’ve decided to keep an FFXI blog. I’ve got a lot of gripes about the game, and there are a plethora of issues that are never addressed in game or on message boards. Many have questioned me as to why I continue to keep playing this game – a question I’ve asked myself many times and actually have found answers for. From being called crazy to stupid and everything inbetween, I still play this game. I’ve decided, however, that message board forums are simply no longer enough to satisfy the massive amount of groupthink that protrudes from them. Also, I have very good friends, both on and offline, who are very sick of hearing about how much I complain about the game. I’ve decided to do them a favor and try to stop that… as much as humanly possible. The best course of action, for now, is to keep a blog. If you find yourself interested, great. Welcome.
